Boudoir Session Tips: Maximizing Comfort and Capturing Beauty

The Basics of Preparing for Your Boudoir Session

  • First thing is comfort! Wear comfy clothes before your session! Try on your outfits prior to our session to make sure they are comfortable and fit the way you want! Avoid anything too small, the tightness will leave redness or marks on the skin
  • Prep yourself! Get your hair done, hand and feet, moisturize your body, and eat light! We want you walking into the session feeling beautiful and confident! Try to plan these a few days before the session to make sure you’re looking great for you day!
  • Eat Light! Try to have a light meal before the session to ensure you have energy and your body is happy! Try to avoid any foods or drinks that make you bloated or sick. Nobody wants to feel bloated in front of a camera! Skipping a meal wont help either! We will be doing poses and moving around for the entire session, your body will need some nutrition to keep you happy!

Choosing the Perfect Outfit: Tips and Tricks

  • Colors: Wearing colors during your session is great! Whether you like dark outfits or light outfits, bringing variety of colors helps us make the best choices!
  • Tags: Remove any visible tags with scissors! Lace and silk underwear show tags and loose fabric very well! Make sure to trim and cut all tags that show on your lingerie. We don't want to show the tags in any of our photos so doing this before your session saves time!
  • Fit: Bringing outfits that fit you well is so important! Try to prevent bra strap marks on your shoulders or impressions on the hips from tight bottoms. These clothing marks take some time to disappear from our session and indicate that the garment is too tight!
  • Variety: Pack all of your outfits. Plan for 1-3 outfits for a Half Shoot and 5-8 outfits for a Full Session feel free to bring extras in case we have more time or want more choice!

How to Feel Relaxed and Confident During Your Shoot

  • Bring a friend you trust! Boudoir sessions are more fun when you’re laughing and showing who you truly are! Feel free to bring a friend to help or just keep you company!
  • Communicate with your photographer on how you feel! I'll ask you as we go how you are feeling and what you're wanting to try next!
  • Be yourself! Authentic photos are beautiful photos. We are there to support you and celebrate your existence!
  • Share your favorite playlist with me so we can play it during your shoot! Let's rock out to your favorite songs and relax!
  • Cozy sweater: This one can basically go in every single category. Bring a cozy sweater to snuggle up and add variety to your outfits.

Utilizing Props and Accessories for a Personal Touch
